2011 in Photographs

This year has been the most incredible year for me! God took me through so many incredible things. It wasn’t always easy but it was always worth it. As I sit back in reflection over the last 12 months of my life, I am visited  by a flood of memories and the promise that through it all- God is sovereign and He is at work!

Here’s some of my favourite moments from 2011!

Crowing of Miss Canada 2011

Speaking with Students at Walnut Grove Secondary and across Canada to join the movement to end Modern Day Slavery.

Inspired by the 300+ people who braved the rain in Langley on March 12, 2011 to march for Freedom during FreedomWeek.

Students of Trinity Western University demanding an end to Modern Day Slavery worldwide.

Leading at Breakout Session at HistoryMaker with Todd Hauptman and supporting friends from World Vision

Honoured to be the Keynote Speaker at the Surrey School District Girls Conference! It’s been so inspiring to watch the girls join the movement to end exploitation and raise their voices for freedom!

Memories of visiting the slum villages of Cambodia to seek out prevention strategies to end human trafficking. The Cambodian people left their imprints on my heart and will forever live in my memory. I hope to visit them again soon.

My “little sister” (Naawng Saao) who crawled into my arms while at a home for children in Thailand. Precious little girls who are worthy beyond measure.

The Ignite Justice tour. 1o cities. 3 weeks. 1 message: End exploitation in Canada and worldwide.

Winning one of Canada’s “Women of the Year” awards for my work to end human trafficking. Wow. Incredible honour! Thanks to everyone who voted!

Living at Trinity Western’s Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa and working on Parliament Hill.

Working with MP Joy Smith to further the cause of ending human trafficking in Canada. I have so much respect for this woman; she is focused on her mission and never backs down in her pursuit of justice for victims of human trafficking. I hope to have as much courage and perseverance as her throughout my life.

Spending Christmas with my amazing family!

I hope that you all had as incredible a year as I have! Let’s move forward into 2012 with courage and determination to stand for justice, fight for freedom and spend our lives on what truly matters.

Happy 20112!
