Back at it again for Day 2 of Eco Fashion Week! My look for this day was all inspired by a boho- glam, Spring Goddess vibe!
I loved the Elle Playsuit from Maccs- The Label, a newly launched collection by Vancouver designer, Tessa Lindsay Garcia of Shop Maccs and Cake for Breakfast. I’ve long adored this girl for her effortless chic style and the new Maccs collection is absolutely on point!

Day 2 of Eco Fashion Week was all about the art of thrifting and rescuing laundry files from a life in the landfill. The average North American throws away 81 lbs of clothing and textiles every year, 95% of which could have been recycled.
In the last year I have gone crazy over the art of thrift shopping! With a few helpful tips from seasoned Value Village veterans, I’ve been able to score some amazing vintage finds and save a lot of money while building a colourful and unique wardrobe. Through the Value Village Challenge and the 81 lb Challenge, I was absolutely blown away by the creativity of the designers and stylists! They have such an incredible way of walking through the aisles of the thrift store with an ability to see fabrics for more than what they are, but rather what they can be.
Here’s my highlights:
Thrift Style Challenge
Each collection had its own unique look, mirroring the personal style of the designer who curated it. While I absolutely admired the creative eye of each collection, it was Nadia Albano’s gypsy glam collection that stole my heart the most!
I mean really, I need those dresses in my closet NOW! How beautiful! My boho heart is dying right now.
81lbs Challenge
Partnering with Value Village, students of the Visual College of Art and Design stylishly gave new life to 81lbs with of discarded clothing and textiles that have been abandoned on the sales floor.
The collection had a very clear “Gatsby” feel and I could gush over the art of it all day long, but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
My favourite moment of the runway show, aside from an ultra fierce performance on the runway, was the one captured above with EFW Founder and President, Myriam Laroche celebrating the accomplishment with the student designers, Alanis Anne Alindogan, Ashley Parker, Dillon Hayes, Edmond Santelices, Jinju Nam, Catherine Badets, Harrison Neef, Nomfundo Valencia Ntshulana.
That is celebration of beautiful sustainability and mentorship in action!
And this is why I love Eco Fashion Week.
