The world is such a beautiful place in Autumn. It is nature’s testimony that we must not fear age, but rather embrace growing old with the golden elegance of a forrest with leaves aglow!
This season is teaching me about soaking in the moment, slowing down and setting aside the anticipation of “what’s next”, to enjoy what is here now. It’s about presence, and a paused state of being.
We’ve spent almost every day that we can together as a family, soaking in this final season before new baby arrives in Winter.
Chayton has learned to catch fish at the river and ride a bike down the path near our house. It’s been such fun to watch the wonder in his eyes as he challenges himself to learn something new! I can’t believe how big our boy has gotten in only such a short time.
We visit the farm often.
We’ve picked apples, rode horses, said ‘hello’ to all the bunnies and the sheep. Chayton currently thinks that all farm animals say “baa baa”! We’re working on getting him to understand the other animal noises too.
I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving just around the corner! Can’t wait for the season of pumpkin patches, apple pies, the local Cranberry Festival and cozy nights with my boys.
Next season will be here before we know it, and bringing along with the frosty snow of winter will be a precious baby girl.
Until then, we are taking it all in, enjoying Autumn for all her beauty and crunching upon those gorgeous leaves, dancing down from the trees.
xo, Tara
